The annual reports describe test volume. They do not identify these figures as first-attempt pass rates, so we do not label them that way. The latest annual report checked for this guide was 2025; these figures are not a 2026 forecast.

Pass rate versus passing score

A pass rate describes the share of reported test attempts that passed. The passing score is the minimum result an individual needs. The UAG passing score is 70%, or 42 of 60 scored questions. An average score is a third measure: it summarises scores across the reported tests.

Does the national rate tell me how likely I am to pass?

It cannot predict an individual result. People taking the exam have different backgrounds and preparation. The annual table also does not explain why a result changed from one year to the next. Treat it as context rather than a promise about your own attempt.

A more useful preparation check is whether you can explain an answer without recognising the wording. Review unfamiliar figures, work through questions across the subject areas, and use a timed paper to find gaps.

What is Airspace School’s pass rate?

We do not currently publish an Airspace School pass-rate percentage because we do not yet have verified exam-outcome data. We do not present the FAA’s national figures as our own success rate or guarantee a pass.
