Preparing to retake an STS theory examination
Use official retake instructions and targeted revision to prepare another STS attempt after an unsuccessful result.

Confirm the examining body’s retake rules
Check how many attempts remain, whether you must reapply, whether a fee or waiting period applies and whether your examination access expires. These are national or provider arrangements. Do not apply a Part 107 waiting period or assume that another country’s STS process is the same.
Find the source of each misunderstanding
Use the result information the examining body makes available. Avoid copying or distributing protected exam questions. Group your gaps by syllabus area and by cause: an incorrect scenario, a confused volume, a missed procedural trigger, a human-performance point or a misread quantity.
Practise the changed understanding
Return to the relevant explanation, draw out the relationship in words and answer a different preparation question later. If timing was difficult, identify which tasks took too long. Attempt another mock only after reviewing the gaps; repeating a memorised form can give a misleading impression of progress.
Use the topic checklist and study plan to organise the next attempt.
