EASA STS preparation
Choosing an STS theory and practical training provider
Check who conducts the official STS examination and who can provide the practical training and accreditation for your intended scenario.

Verify the official theory examining body
The STS theoretical examination and certificate are handled by the competent authority or a body it designates. A commercial course may offer preparation without being that examining body. Verify claims through the authority’s own information, including the accepted A1/A3 prerequisite and the route for A2 certificate holders.
Verify the practical provider and scenario
The practical provision must meet the rules for the chosen standard scenario. The regulation identifies recognised entities and qualifying operators that have made the required declarations, including compliance with Appendix 3. Ask what evidence of that status is available and whether the training covers STS-01, STS-02 or both.
Ask what the package actually includes
Confirm the aircraft class, training location, assessment method, required prior knowledge, accreditation issued and the cost of additional attempts. Theory-only preparation, an official theory exam and practical training are different services. Airspace School sells theory study access; the official exam and practical qualification are separate.
Use the official country links and booking checklist before paying.
